Excel Display has driving boards available for many of our TFT LCD products which support NTSC/PAL video as well as standard VGA. If your design is using a single board computer (SBC) it is possible for our TFT panel to interface directly to your board with no additional driving board.
Backlight Types
® TFT displays are available with CCFL backlights, some models also use White LEDs to provide lighting for the display.
When choosing your display it is important to consider that a display using a CCFL backlight will need AC current to power the backlight, this can be provided with an inverter if an AC power source is not available in your design.
Because of this LED lighting is very popular for handheld and other portable devices.
